Introduction
- The department of Urdu was established in the year 1954-55.
- The department was started to facilitate minority community people to learn their language.
- The department was run successfully and progressively by Dr. S.A. Sargiro and Prof. N.S. Momin.
- It is proud to mention that the former professor of department Dr. S.A. Sargiro his present chairman of Karnataka State Urdu Academy.
- The department offers Urdu as Basic Subject in BA programme.
