Department Of Economics

Introduction

The department was established in the year 1945 – 46. The founder Prin. Dr. S. C. Nandimath realized the importance of economics to the economically backward undivided Bijapur district and introduced the subject in the college and set up the Dept. Great scholars such as Prof. S. N. C. Rao (founder HOD), Prin. C. G. Math, Prof . R. M. Nainegali and Prin. S. M. Naragund laid down the strong foundation to the department. Department headed by Prof. S. B. Dhavalagimath, Dr. B.A. Guli and Dr. M. N. Siddalingappanavar, Prof. N.R.Aparanji who were responsible for the progress of the dept.

Adi, dean, Social Science RCU Belagavi, Prof. Talwar Sabanna, Chairman, Dept. studies in Economics, RCU Belagavi and Prof. B. H. Nagoor Dept. of Studied in Economics Karnatak university, Dharawad visited the Dept. Presently the department is headed by Shri.C. R. Choukimath and followed by Shri M.C.Hiremath.
