Department of Hindi

Introduction

The department of Hindi was established in the year 1957 – 58. The department was setup to boost the use of our National Language in this part of Karnataka. Hindi is part of the three language policy of union govt. Noted scholars – Prof. G. M. Umapati Shastri, Prof. R. D. Hiremath, Prof. Mahadev A. Tenginakai Prof. Mallappa Tenginakai, Late Prof S.M.Mittalkod, Prof. Raju P Melinamani have rendered the most precious service for the progress and development of the department. The department has achieved the motto of boosting national language.

Well known Hindi scholars of state Prof. Surpur, Dr. Hemalata Savakar, Dr. Attar, Dr. Smt. Chavan, Prof. S. K. Kulkarni have paid their visit to the department and enlightened the students of the department.
          Presently the department is headed by Shri Raju P. Melinamani Followed by Assistant Dr. M. B. Jamadar.
           UGC Sponsored one day National Level Seminar was organized on 26th  December 2015, Subject was “Sarveshwar Dayala Sakshena Ke Sahithya Me Manaveeya Chetana”, and Chief Guest is Prof. T.V. Kattimani, Vice Chancellor, Indira Gandhi National Trible University Amarkanth, Madya. Pradesh.
