Post Graduate Department Of English

Responding to the need of English lecturers, B.V.V. Sangha started PG English Course at Basaveshwar Arts College in 2002 with 25 students and three highly qualified and experienced teachers. In short span of 16 years the department has grown into a reputable institution of higher learning in this part of North Karnataka. It has well-equipped library with the necessary textual and reference works and literary journals of national standard consequently its academic standard is outstanding at RCU examination. Every year quite number of first classes enhances the dignity of the department. Many have bagged University gold medals thereby creating a niche in the galaxy of PG English department of Rani Channamma University Belagavi. Just recently Miss Sudharani Chimmanakatti secured third rank for her outstanding performance at June 2018 PG examination of Rani Channamma University. The prospects for the department are indeed bright in the years to come.
