Department of Psychology

The department of Psychology was established in the academic year 1958-59 with the affiliation to Bombay University and Karnataka University later.  The founder Principal of our college Dr. S. C. Nandimath realized the importance of Psychology in modern life and introduced the subject in the college and set up the separate department. Great scholars such as Prof. S. B. Mathad and Prof. A. R. Koli led the department with additional subject like Philosophy and Logic. Noted Professors and Scholars like Prof. K. R. Mallappa founder HOD Psychology, KUD. Prof. P. S. Halyal  HOD Psychology, KUD., Prof. Ashok Pal Senior Scholar Dept. of Psychology, KUD, Prof Gangayya.K.C.D.  Prof. B.A. Ganagi. Dr. Rajeshwari Kencappanavar. K.C.D., Dr. S.G. Jadhav. K.C.D. Dr. Venkatareddi Gulbarga. Prof. Dr. Smt. P. Asha, HOD SJMUS College, Hubli.,  Prof. Smt. S. M. Jali SJMUS College, Hubli, Prof. A. S. Hiremath RTES College, Ranebennur, Prof. Sawkar RTES College, Ranebennur, Prof. H. K. Yadahalli HOD Secab College, Bijapur, Dr. Sucheta Wagmore Psychiatrists Balgaum etc. have visited the department. Presently the department is headed by Prof. S. R. Muganurmath.
